Welcome to Lekanders Bär och Boende!

Lekanders Bär och Boende (berries and living) is situated in Tyfta on the island of Tjörn at the point where the valley opens up as you drive from Fagerfjäll towards Rönnäng. The farm is positioned on a rocky outcrop above the fields and where the farm yard ends, the wood begin. Woods, rocky outcrops and water alternate to form the landscape so typical for Tjörn. The area surrounding the farm consists of small farms with horses and growing of vegetables.

Lekanders bär och boende is run as an operative farm where strawberries, raspberries and black currants are the most important crops. Crop rotation is carried out. Grain and sunflowers is grown on the areas resting from the berry crops.

The farm has been owned by the same family since the middle of the 17th century. The farm is now run by Mats and Gerda Lekander and the bed and breakfast is run by Anso and Jonas Lekander. On the farm is also the 11th generation living: Olle, Måns and Petter Lekander.

2001 the animal rearing discontinued and in 2003 the accommodation for guests in one of the stables was completed. There are now five double rooms, each with it's own bathroom. Guests can cook their own meals and eat in the large country style kitchen/living room. There is also two two-bedroom self contained flats and a functions room with adjoining kitchen, accommodating 20-50 people.

It's 3 km from Tyfta to the sea and also to the nearest golf course and 10 km to Tjörns regional centre, Skärhamn, where you will find the Nordic Watercolour Museum, art galleries and a variety of shops. It's 65 km to Sweden's second largest city, Göteborg (Gothenburg).
