In Tyfta, strawberries have been grown since Mats Lekander’s grandmother Emilia farmed them for delivery to Marstrand before the Second World War.
The price was very high at that time. Mats’ father Allan Andersson continued growing the popular berry, and since the 1970s, the strawberry farm is in Mats’ hands.
It wasn’t long before he extended the variety of berries to include black currants (1979) and raspberry (mid-80s). All berries can be bought already picked or through self-picking.
